Position: Mechanical CAD Drafter

We are looking for an outstanding person with strong SolidWorks design skills to become an integral part of our Engineering CAD department.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop 3D design models based on concepts and sketches to create detailed drawings, focusing on metal enclosures created through CNC machining.
• Incorporate a manufacturing perspective into designs to ensure efficient production.
• Coordinate closely with Engineers to ensure electronic PCBs are effectively integrated into mechanical designs.
• Present model designs for technical review, ensuring compliance with company processes.
• Prepare comprehensive document packages for manufacturing, including assembly drawings and machine files.
• Maintain drawing revision control in accordance with the company’s document control processes.
• Must be able to work on ITAR data without a license.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Demonstrated expertise in the use of professional-level 3D modeling tools including SolidWorks.
• Experience working in a product development environment.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• (Desirable) Familiar with CNC machining processes and how to optimize mechanical design for ease of machining.
• (Desirable) Experience with AutoCAD.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Mechanical Drafting/Design experience.
• SolidWorks 3D modeling experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles, including machining.
